Serious maintenance and safety concerns during my tenancy

This is my honest account of my experience renting this property. In my experience the landlord, Daniel, managed the property directly and was unreasonable to deal with. In my experience maintenance was not carried out using qualified trades. During my tenancy I experienced significant mould through the home. One straightforward repair took around six months to be actioned. The timber floorboards were badly weathered. In my experience they were unsafe, and my family and I came close to falling through them. When I raised this, I was told that no money would be spent until someone actually fell through. In my opinion the property was unsafe to live in during my tenancy, and based on my experience I would not recommend renting it in the condition I experienced. The air conditioning did not work during my tenancy. We paid for a property advertised with air conditioning, but in my experience it only blew air and never actually cooled or heated. There was no working heating through winter. When I raised it, the landlord said the air conditioning worked. In my experience it did not, and he would not engage a qualified technician to look at it. The smoke alarms were also faulty. In my experience the fire alarms would repeatedly go off, and I saw no evidence of a qualified fire safety inspection during my tenancy. Pest control was not handled professionally either. In my experience the landlord dealt with it himself using a self-install kit from a hardware store rather than engaging a licensed pest controller.
